Many people who feel anxious for a lot of the time may well be more prone or susceptible than others. It may be that you fall into the magical category of an Intuitive or Highly Sensitive Person!

Look at these statements and see if they apply to you…

  • You find yourself picking up on the moods of others
  • You often feel anxious for no particular reason
  • You get startled easily
  • You try and avoid upsetting situations
  • Other people tell you that you are “over sensitive” or “shy”

Of course, there is no diagnosis and being a Highly Sensitive person is not an illness or a disability, it’s just part of who we are like our hair colour, our height etc.

Highly sensitive and Intuitive people learned somewhere along the line that it wasn’t acceptable to show the World their true selves. We live in a fast-paced World which prides itself on a “can do” attitude. It doesn’t always have time for those of us who sometimes need a little extra time.

So, we learned to suppress our feelings and try and fit in with our external environment.

Mmmm…. How did that work out for you? I’m guessing the fact that you are doing this course means, not so well.

Because trying to be someone we are not leads to…Yes you guessed it! ANXIETY

So, how can you harness your inner Intuitive and or Sensitive Powers?

I’m going to show you how you can work WITH them rather than AGAINST them.

I’m going to teach you a simple practice which you can apply to any situation…

First of all, you need to do a little preparation, so grab a pen or pencil and some paper because we are going to think about what we want our Intuition or Sensitivity to help us with

Here are some example questions…

  • Why do I feel uncomfortable in ____ situation?
  • Why do I struggle to have a relationship with ___?
  • Why can’t I let go of negativity?
  • Why am I afraid to move on?

Take some time to think of your own question but remember to keep it simple and ask only one thing. You can return later to ask more questions. After all, you’ve got your own built in life expert!

Once you have your question, we can move on to the next stage… make yourself comfortable in a seat or lying down and close your eyes and let my voice guide you.

We’re going to start by taking some relaxing breaths so close your eyes or lower your gaze and let me guide you.

Breathe in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4

Breathe in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4

Breathe in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4

As you resume your normal breathing rate, stay focussed on your breath.

Now, imagine a gentle inner light or orb. It is burning in the middle of your body very gently.

Focus on the orb as you imagine it growing larger and stronger inside of you.

The glow is warm, gentle and friendly.

With each breath, the orb grows stronger and larger.

As the orb grows you are aware that it is your inner voice, your inner intelligence. Stay with it for a few moments, it is your friend.

Ask it for guidance relating to your particular question. What does it tell you? Listen carefully no matter what it says. It may be feel disjointed or irrelevant but accept it and trust it.

I’m going to stay quiet for a few moments whilst you consult with your inner self but I’m right here.

Solidify in your brain the message you have received. Thank the orb and allows it’s light and energy to stay in your body, rejuvenating you with its strength and love.

As you bask in the warm loving glow, begin to wiggle your fingers and toes and blink your eyes open

HELLO THERE!

Ok, now write down whatever you can remember.

Now that you’ve captured this conversation, let’s reflect on what just happened.

Maybe, for the first time in your life, you listened to YOURSELF!

You acknowledged your inner voice. This is the wisdom that sits inside all of us but guess what?

Highly Sensitive People and Intuitives are much better at acknowledging it because deep down inside, we believe there must be more to life than the way we feel and that is what quite often can cause anxiety!
